The Importance of Girl Time
Last weekend I took the train up to Nottingham to see my friends. Sometimes I really struggle with having friends, and my best friend, so far away. When there are moments when I’m pulling my hair out, or if something really positive happens in my life, I hate that I can’t share with them in person.
The positive of this, though, is that when I do see them it’s normally for a one or two night stay, and these little breaks of friend-fulled hours really help to make me feel a bit more ‘me’.
Don’t get me wrong, I love being with my boyfriend and my family, but you can’t really beat a bit of girl time. Time to talk about how much your stressing, or body insecurities or pretty much anything without worrying that the person you’re talking to will think you’re a) crazy or b) crazy.
My girlfriends are my lifeboat. And spending quality time with them often gives me a different outlook on personal situations or issues, it gives me time to talk about all things girly and it gives me a break from ‘normal’ life.
I love seeing them and I can’t stress enough how important it is to have dedicated time with them. It totally recharges my batteries and I can’t thank them enough for all the support and guidance they have given me/ continue to do so in everyday life.
Always appreciate your friends, and remind them how much you care. Go get your phone and touch base with your real-life friends, regardless of how long it’s been.
