This Month I’ve Been #8

I haven’t done one of these monthly update posts since July and that’s because life has been manic. I’m excited to start it up again to remind myself of all the fun things I’ve been doing recently.

You can check out my last post from July here, but for now, this is what I got up to in the month of October.

The colder weather. FINALLY. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of summer sun but when it turns into that transitional weather where you don’t know what to wear it sucks. When it’s cold, you know you need the big scarfs and big jackets.

Autumn 3

Being broke. The beard and I have a meeting with a mortgage advisor on the 5th November and due to this I’ve been saving like mad. Any extra money has gone on Christmas presents (yes, I like to be prepared) so I’ve been b.r.o.k.e.

With the colder months coming in I’ve gone for warmer dishes in the evenings. I still love a salad, but I’m also a fan of warm pastas, stews etc. I’m currently obsessed with warm fruit as well since making the Deliciously Ella crumble last week. This weekend, to be a bit healthier, I didn’t bother making the crumble topping and just cooked some apples and raspberries with cinnamon and served it with 0% fat greek yoghurt. It’s something about the hot with the cold that I love.

After a five-week break, I am back on it and I am loving it! My first gym workout was glutes, followed by spin, followed by abs and my gawwwwd my bum hurt the following day, even walking was a struggle, but it just felt so good to be back.

Fruit tea! I went on a fruit tea hiatus whilst I was off and coming back to work meant I could indulge (ha, hardly) in an Apple and Elderflower Green Tea from Costa. It made the cold morning walk much better.

This Month 8

Not a lot in all honesty, however mid-November – Christmas I am busy nearly every weekend. Seriously, I have something fun planned starting from November 12th all the way up until Saturday 17th. I love being busy but I hate how quickly the Christmas season seems to go.

You can read all about what I binged watched while I was off here, but to update further I have also started watching Westworld (Sky Atlantic) which I’m loving and I’m finally getting around to watching The Walking Dead – I know I’m fashionably late to that party. What else comes with binge watching TV? ALL THE AMAZING TV SNACKS. This skinny popcorn tastes incredible as curbs a sweet craving.

This Month 8

As I have to read a lot of magazines for work, this month has been taken up with Christmas mag reading and it’s made me feel so festive! I’m going to attempt to make some Christmas cookies this year as presents so keep an eye out on the blog for some recipes.

Listening To

Wretch 32’s album. Oh My DAYS have you heard it? Honestly, It’s incredible. I’ve recently listened to his, Drake’s and Kendrick Lamar’s and Wretch is by far the best of all three. Have a listen for free on Spotify before you buy if you’re interested.

Looking Forward To

So much next month… going to the mortgage advisor, doing my Christmas shopping day in Bicester village, having my uni girls come down for a night in Watford. It’s going to be a really good month!

Thanks for reading,
S x
