What I Got For Christmas 2016
Ah Christmas, doesn’t it feel like such a long time ago now? Does for me. I took a small blogging break over the Christmas period to get my mojo ready for 2017 and I feel good about the start of the year.
For me, Christmas is never about getting presents. I know lots of people say that, but I actually prefer giving presents than getting them. I consider myself a very good present buyer and when I’m right it makes me happy.
My friends, family and boyfriend spoiled me this year, once again, so I thought I’d share some of the things I got with you. The products listed below are not favourites; they’re just 1) what looked good in the flat lay and 2) fit in nicely in the flat lay. I’ll be mentioning as much as possible even if you can’t see them in the above. If I’ve forgotten anything, it’s because, as I said, I was spoilt, and there is a LOT to remember.
As most people know, I’ve wanted the Fitbit Charge 2 in Rose Gold and Purple since it was first released, so finding this under the Christmas tree was an absolute treat. My boyfriend bought me this Nike Thermal Hoody and Running Tights, which I’ve already worn on a nine mile run and the hoody kept me nice and toasty without being a sweat fest. An amazing stocking present from my mum was this Zip Wristband, it’s got a zip pocket which looks after my keys whilst I’m out running. My best friend also bought me a food diary to help keep me on the straight and narrow in 2017 (from Paperchase, not online).
Make Up and Body
I didn’t ask for any make up this year and I got treated to some amazing bits, so I’m very happy! My mum bought me my favourite Lush Mask of Magnaminty and Snow Fairy Gift Set (no longer online), along with the OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s Mini Mail Duo. The beard bought me the Benefit Girlesque makeup set, which has all my Benefit faves in it.
My best friend picked me up the Make Up Forever Lipstick in the shade C211 which is the most flattering shade ever, along with the Custom FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Candlelight. This, teamed with Celestial, creates major highlighter envy. I’m forever running out of brushes, so my friend who knows me far too well also bought me a massive set of travel Make Up Brushes which literally have a brush for everything!
Clothing and Accessories
I don’t really ask for clothes as my tastes change quite often, but my mum bought me a gorgeous white scarf from H&M (similar here), some H&M underwear (I’ve been told they’re WUBBISH at stocking big sizes, but perfect for those who are part of the itty bitty titty committee), this New Look Striped Top and this Heart Print Wrap Dress, which is great for dressing up and down. I raved about these Rose Gold Converse in my Christmas wish list and the beard bought them for me! He said they were a nightmare to track down but I’m so glad he managed to as they are as beautiful in person as they are on the website.
My aunt bought me this gorgeous Ted Baker bag which I can’t find anywhere online. It’s almost too good to use. Almost… And finally, the beard’s brother and his missus bought me a mermaid blanket! I am a hermit in the winter and love wrapping up in a blanket, so this purchase is perfect for me! You can buy similar here.
The beard bought my mum and I Bruno Mars tickets as we love him and it’s right near my birthday, which is a lovely treat for now and then! My uncle for the beard and I a luxury gift of some Bollinger Champagne and Glasses (I refuse to look up the item/ price so you’ll have to google this yourself) which we plan to open when we buy our house, and we got a very generous voucher from my dad and family which the beard and I spent on Pyrex pans for our house – how times have changed! The beard also bought me this HP portable photo printer. If you’ve read this post, you’ll know how much I like printing photographs, so this is perfect for me.
I also got some lovely gifts including this Central Perk Travel Mug (I’m a Friends fanatic), Finding Dory (and a Disney Fanatic), a Johnny Cash and Flash Tshirt, as well as some Playdoh from my dad (never going to grow up). Some more heartfelt gifts were a really amazing friendship book from my best, which was filled with things she felt about me, stuff we’ve done together and tonnes of heartfelt memories which made my cry! My mum buys me a Links of London Charm every year which I add to my bracelet. And finally, to see in the New Year, I got this beautiful Paperchase diary (yes, I still keep a diary. If I could it would also be under lock and key OR with a passcode for entry…)
What did you get for Christmas? I hope you got spoilt!
