New Gym Kit Makes Me Happy
My name is Sophie, and I am addicted to buying new gym kit. I don’t know when the obsession started, I think it’s been an ongoing progression as I’ve started taking training more seriously.
I go to the gym at least five times per week, so I need to make sure that I have a decent amount of kit to accommodate it. Or at least, that’s what I tell myself anyway. I’ve also recently (on Sunday) started a new 12-week fitness plan, so I wanted some new kit to motivate me.
I managed to grab some absolute bargains this Christmas and in the January sales, so I thought I’d share my finds with you all.
First up is this beautiful cropped Nike jumper, which was down from £50, then £35 and then £15 in store at John Lewis. It’s got yellow/green reflective material running down the seams, and features a solid cotton front and a mesh back. It’s so comfy and is going to be perfect for throwing on when the temperatures get above sub-zero.
Secondly are two new Adidas running top purchases. The first is this Adidas Hi 5 Tank Top for £15 from Sports Direct. This is the third colour I’ve bought in this top style, it’s just so damn comfy and lightweight and is amazing to run in. I was sceptical about the Adidas V-Neck Logo Tee, which was another John Lewis store purchase for £11, because I’m not normally comfortable running in tight t-shirts, but this is the perfect fit for running. It’s tight, without being figure hugging, and it’s lightweight material makes it easy to move and train in. If I had the dollar, I would pick up the other two colours, which are still available on the Adidas website.
You can’t beat a decent sports bra. I am proudly part of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee, so I don’t need as much support as the larger busted ladies (you lucky devils), but I still like knowing my ladies are protected whilst looking stylish, therefore I picked up the Adidas Three Stripe Strappy Bra, Nike Pro Indy Sports Bra and Nike Pro Classic Medium Sports Bra. I’ve tried and tested all three of these and my favourite is the Pro Indy sports bra. It actually makes me look like I have jugs, which never happens! Least fave, unfortunately the Adidas Three Stripe. I don’t know if they changed sizes recently, I’ve always been a ‘small’ but the fit of this one comes up BIG. I think next time I’ll have to do a try before I buy.
I go through leggings like there’s no tomorrow, and it bugs the hell out of me because they are so damn expensive. I also don’t own any matching gym kit, or I didn’t before these beauties came into my life, so I decided to buy the full leggings, and 3/4 gold capri which match the Indy Sports Bra and Pro Classic Sports Bra above. I can’t find the links online to either, but the gold glitter full leggings are still available to purchase. The black Nike running leggings were a Christmas present, so I don’t know the exact name of them, but I’m a big fan of the majority of Nike kit, I find the material to be really comfortable regardless of what exercise I’m doing.
And that’s it for now! I’ve managed to avoid spending my life savings on the Adidas sale (which is still ongoing, by the way) and reigned it in by purchasing just the above. I find that decent gym kit is such a motivator for making you feel good when you work out, so it’s well worth the investment. What do you think?
