Mani Monday – Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat

I can’t remember the last time I did my nails and didn’t use the Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat. I find this nail product so good, that I’ve decided to dedicate an entire post to it.

Let me set the scene first. I’ve applied my base coat, and I’ve rapidly applied two colour coats and a random top coat I’ve found in my nail box because 1) I’m always in a rush at the moment and 2) I have no patience waiting for polish to dry. Skip forward 15 minutes, my nails are dry to touch so I get up and get on with putting a wash on/ making dinner/ taking my make up off/ everything else I do in the evening.

Imagine my annoyance when, mid chore-ing, I notice that three out of five of my nails have now smudged past the point of spit-movement recovery (all the nail bloggers out there know what I mean). Que removal of said nail varnish, followed by the rest as the remover always ruins all my nails, and repeat the process above.

15 minutes, in any normal world, should be long enough to dry nails properly, but it’s all dependent on how thick the layers are, the formula of the nail varnish and whether you’ve actually left 15 minutes, or just think you have.

Seche Vite

This is where the Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat comes in.

Apply your base and colour as normal, and then apply a layer of this. Honestly, after a max of five minutes, your nails are dry to touch, and they are actually dry all the way through. None of this trickery of “pretend dry”, you can crack on with other stuff and your nails will stay perfectly polished.

I have found, after five minutes or so, if you do anything really strenuous (like attempting to take keys of a keyring – I’ve actually done this), your nail varnish will still smudge, but it takes considerable force.

You can team this top coat with any normal nail varnish, and it increases the staying power, prolongs the nail colour lifespan before chipping and gives it a really gel-like finish. It’s a go-to product when I’m painting my nails, and I couldn’t imagine doing them without it!

You can purchase the Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat from Nail Polish Direct for £2.95.

Have you used Seche Vite Top Coat? What did you think?
